Ukraine is ramping up domestic missile and bomb manufacturing to reduce reliance on Western military aid amid ongoing Russian ballistic strikes.

Ukraine is expanding its domestic defense manufacturing to mitigate shortfalls in Western military support and counter ongoing Russian ballistic missile strikes.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that two Ukrainian companies are currently developing long-range ballistic missiles, though technical obstacles continue to delay mass production. Additionally, establishing local licensed production of U.S.-designed Patriot air defense systems could take between one and several years, largely due to regulatory procedures in Washington.

To bridge immediate capability gaps, defense authorities approved the procurement of the "Equalizer" glide bomb kit, developed by DG Industry alongside the Brave1 technology cluster. The system converts standard unguided munitions into precision-guided weapons for deployment on both Soviet-era aircraft and Western fighter jets.
