Ukraine is ramping up domestic weapon production, including ballistic missiles and glide bomb kits, as Patriot system licensing faces years of administrative delays.

Ukraine is intensifying efforts to strengthen its domestic arms industry amid critical air defense shortages and administrative obstacles hindering foreign production licenses. President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that two local firms are working on indigenous ballistic missile capabilities, although technical difficulties persist before mass output can begin.

Concurrently, efforts to produce U.S.-designed Patriot air defense systems under American license face regulatory hurdles, with deployment expected to take anywhere from twelve months to several years. To bridge the immediate defensive gap following intensified Russian ballistic strikes, Ukrainian forces are acquiring domestically developed "Equalizer" guidance modules. Designed by DG Industry and supported by the Brave1 initiative, these kits convert standard aerial bombs into precision glide munitions compatible with both legacy Soviet aircraft and modern Western jets.
