Ukraine is expanding domestic arms production, including ballistic missiles and glide bomb modules, as U.S. Patriot licensing faces multi-year delays.

Ukraine is advancing domestic military manufacturing to address air defense shortfalls and reduce reliance on foreign supply chains. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that establishing local production of Patriot air defense systems under U.S. licensing will require one to several years due to regulatory and bureaucratic delays.

To manage immediate vulnerabilities during this transition, two Ukrainian defense companies are developing long-range ballistic missiles capable of striking targets deep inside Russian territory. Additionally, Ukraine's armed forces are procuring the "Equalizer" glide bomb guidance module, created by DG Industry with support from Brave1. The kit converts conventional unguided bombs into precision munitions compatible with Soviet-era aircraft such as the MiG-29 and Su-24, as well as Western fighter jets.
