UK and Ukraine launch AI defense partnership amid global shift to automated warfare

Ukraine and the United Kingdom have formalized a defense partnership enabling British researchers to access Ukraine's Avengers AI Labs battlefield datasets. Signed in Kyiv by Prime Minister Andy Burnham and President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the agreement allows the UK to train protective algorithms to defend critical infrastructure against drone threats. Former Google chief executive Eric Schmidt noted that the conflict has led to "one of the biggest revolutions in the history of warfare."

Ukrainian military analysts emphasize that artificial intelligence and robotics are essential for securing an asymmetric advantage and offsetting severe personnel shortages.
