CHP leader Özgür Özel criticized President Erdoğan over local governance disputes in Üsküdar and defended Ankara Mayor Yavaş's presidential meeting.

Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader Özgür Özel has criticized Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following a local municipal vote that transferred executive authority in Istanbul's Üsküdar district to the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP). Speaking at a public rally in Üsküdar, Özel described the political shift in the opposition-held district as a violation of democratic standards and justice.

In a separate television appearance on Koza TV, Özel commented on a recent meeting between Ankara Mayor Mansur Yavaş and President Erdoğan. The opposition leader defended the dialogue, arguing that communication between municipal leaders and the presidency is necessary for effective public administration.
