Trump urges Ukraine peace agreement before winter following talks with Putin and Zelensky

US President Donald Trump has expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin seeks a diplomatic agreement to end the war in Ukraine, following recent discussions with both leaders. Speaking after dialogue with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Trump urged both sides to reach an understanding, stating "if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great."

Zelensky characterized the meeting as "positive and productive," adding that both Washington and Kyiv aim to conclude the conflict before winter. However, no official peace framework or timetable has been formally confirmed by either Moscow or Kyiv.
