Trump calls for Ukraine-Russia peace agreement before winter

U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate a peace agreement before winter. Speaking following a telephone call with Putin, Trump stated that the Russian leader is seeking a resolution, adding, "if Zelensky wants an agreement, that would be great."

Zelensky characterized his recent meeting with Trump as "positive and productive," noting that both Washington and Kyiv share the objective of halting the conflict in the coming months. However, despite optimistic public statements regarding potential diplomatic progress, neither side has outlined specific terms or an official framework for peace talks.
