Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar have provided updates on their careers, coaching paths, and the domestic football landscape in Slovenia.

Slovenian football figures Aleš Čeh and Jan Mlakar have reflected on their respective careers and the state of domestic football.

Čeh, former captain of the Slovenian national team during its qualification for major tournaments under manager Srečko Katanec, detailed his transition into coaching. His post-playing career involved over a decade as Katanec’s assistant, including a seven-year stint in Asian football, alongside continued ties to former clubs Olimpija Ljubljana, Grazer AK, and Maribor.

Meanwhile, 27-year-old forward Jan Mlakar discussed his third spell with NK Maribor, where he remains focused on securing a league title. Mlakar dismissed rumours connecting him with hometown club Olimpija Ljubljana, noting that despite Olimpija’s ongoing institutional difficulties, upcoming derby encounters between the rivals remain unpredictable.
