Russian forces conduct logistics drills as Western analysts anticipate potential conscription following September elections and prolonged conflict through 2027.

Russian authorities are assessing logistical readiness for a potential second wave of military conscription following the State Duma elections scheduled for mid-September. Military exercises testing housing, supply chains, and equipment distribution have reportedly taken place across several regions, including Kaliningrad.

While President Vladimir Putin has not officially decreed another mobilization, Western intelligence reports and analysts indicate that rising casualty rates, manpower deficits, and increasing costs associated with recruiting contract soldiers are placing significant strain on Russian forces. The recent implementation of an electronic military registry and updated legal frameworks would allow rapid conscription if ordered.

Western officials anticipate intensified combat operations in the coming months, particularly surrounding key targets like Sloviansk and Kramatorsk, with defense planning extending through 2027.
