Poland marks Armed Forces Day with military parades and naval displays
Poland celebrated Armed Forces Day with major military and naval parades, as PM Donald Tusk highlighted national security investments.
Poland commemorated Armed Forces Day on 15 August to mark the 106th anniversary of the Battle of Warsaw, featuring a major military parade along Warsaw's Wisłostrada and naval demonstrations in Gdynia. General Wiesław Kukuła confirmed operational readiness following final rehearsals, while Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Bejda highlighted the event's historical significance.
Speaking from Gdynia, Prime Minister Donald Tusk outlined four national security pillars: tight borders, strong alliances, armed forces investment, and economic growth. Visiting the PGZ Naval Shipyard where the Miecznik program is constructing new frigates, Tusk declared, "Będziemy morską potęgą". Government leadership emphasized that developing robust military capabilities remains essential to deter potential future conflict.
