Poland celebrates Armed Forces Day with military parades and defense pledges

Poland marked Armed Forces Day on 15 August, commemorating the 106th anniversary of the 1920 Battle of Warsaw with military demonstrations across the country. The events featured a large-scale military parade along Warsaw's Wisłostrada and a naval display off the coast of Gdynia.

Speaking in Gdynia, Prime Minister Donald Tusk outlined national security priorities, stressing that preventing conflict requires a strong military, secure borders, solid alliances, and economic growth. Tusk also visited the PGZ Naval Shipyard, where new frigates are being constructed under the Miecznik program. Armed forces leadership confirmed full operational readiness following final rehearsals, highlighting the historical importance of the celebrations.
