Netanyahu rejects US-backed Gaza peace proposal without total disarmament

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a 15-point Gaza peace initiative backed by US President Donald Trump, insisting Israeli forces will not withdraw until Hamas completely disarms.
In televised remarks to his cabinet on Sunday, Netanyahu stated that Israel "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed" and confirmed the rejection of the US-supported document. Although Israeli offensive operations have recently slowed under diplomatic pressure from Washington, Netanyahu emphasized that military forces must remain in place to counter threats.
The refusal highlights growing tension between Jerusalem and Washington, as Netanyahu navigates international diplomatic pressure alongside domestic political considerations ahead of Israel's upcoming October parliamentary elections.
