Iran warns of military offensive as negotiations with US stall

Iran has threatened to launch a full offensive following stalled talks with the US, while filing a formal protest with the UN over American sanctions.
Iran has cautioned that it is prepared to shift to a full military offensive following a breakdown in talks with the United States aimed at reaching a permanent peace agreement. A senior Iranian official confirmed the stance, indicating Teheran will pursue military escalation if diplomatic avenues fail completely.
Simultaneously, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi dispatched a letter to United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres and the UN Security Council, characterizing proposed American sanctions as "state and economic terrorism". Analysts note that the rising friction between Washington and Teheran reflects broader geopolitical shifts, as regional flashpoints and major power rivalries continue to reshape international relations.
