Tehran states the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Washington lifts sanctions, unfreezes assets, and halts military actions following US oil convoy operations.

Tehran has announced that the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed until Washington meets specific demands set out in an Iranian memorandum. The conditions require the United States to end military operations, lift petroleum sanctions and port blockades, and unfreeze Iranian assets.

The statement follows a major US military operation utilizing naval, air, and space assets to escort crude oil shipments through the strategic corridor. Iranian forces responded by deploying rocket-launched sea mines, prompting US strikes against military installations on Larak Island. Before the conflict, approximately 20 million barrels of crude oil passed through the waterway daily.

Tensions remain high as both sides continue operations in the vital maritime passageway.
