Iran and Oman are nearing an agreement on a shipping corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, while Iranian officials outline additional conditions for broader access.

Iran and Oman are finalising an agreement defining the coordinates for a commercial maritime corridor through the Strait of Hormuz, according to Iranian officials. Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei stated that the draft is in its "final stage," though he cautioned that the bilateral framework alone cannot ensure full navigation security, warning against third-party interference.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi noted that wider access remains "subject to other conditions," including reparations for war-related damages.

Meanwhile, regional security concerns persist. The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations reported that two explosions occurred near an oil tanker navigating off the Omani coast. UKMTO confirmed that the crew and vessel remained safe, with no environmental contamination reported.
