In central Spain, a collision between two high-speed Renfe trains near Los Yebenes in Toledo province left 64 people dead after two carriages derailed and fell down a slope along the Madrid-Seville line.

In Turkey, emergency crews responded to multiple severe road crashes. A head-on collision between two cars in Ankara's Polatlı district killed three people and injured four. In Isparta province, a midibus carrying seasonal farm workers hit a truck, injuring 17 passengers. Another freight truck collision resulted in one death and three injuries.
