Investigations are underway in Spain and Turkey following a series of fatal transport accidents, including a high-speed train collision and multiple road crashes.

Spanish and Turkish authorities are investigating a series of major transport accidents reported across both nations.

In central Spain, two high-speed trains collided near Los Yebenes in Toledo province, leaving 64 people dead. The impact caused two carriages to derail and fall down a hillside along the rail line linking Madrid and Seville.

In Turkey, emergency services responded to multiple severe road incidents. A head-on collision between two cars in Ankara's Polatlı district resulted in three fatalities and four injuries. In Isparta province, a midibus carrying seasonal agricultural workers struck the rear of a heavy goods vehicle, injuring 17 passengers. A separate crash involving two freight trucks left one person dead and three others injured.

Formal investigations into the causes of each incident remain ongoing.
