French police arrested 1,314 people nationwide during cost-of-living protests and security operations surrounding the Rassemblement National congress in Orléans.

French authorities maintained high security over the weekend as cost-of-living protests coincided with the Rassemblement National (RN) party congress in Orléans. Around 70,000 police officers and gendarmes were deployed nationwide, including nearly 3,000 stationed in Orléans to manage an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 counter-demonstrators.

The nationwide demonstrations resulted in 1,314 arrests across France, with 126 individuals placed in custody in Paris. Officials reported that 53 security personnel sustained injuries during clashes throughout the country. To prevent further unrest, the prefecture of Loiret prohibited all undeclared public assemblies in Orléans on October 25, coinciding with a scheduled address by party leader Marine Le Pen.
