France deploys heavy security amid nationwide protests and RN congress

French authorities implemented extensive security measures across the country following nationwide demonstrations on October 24 that resulted in 1,314 detentions and 53 law enforcement injuries. In Paris, police authorized aerial drone surveillance and placed 126 individuals in custody.

Focus shifted to Orléans for the National Rally party congress, where officials deployed nearly 3,000 security personnel to manage an estimated 20,000 to 30,000 counter-demonstrators. The Loiret prefecture prohibited all undeclared assemblies in Orléans on October 25, the scheduled date for National Rally leader Marine Le Pen's address, alongside establishing a curfew for minors under 15.

Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced that law enforcement tactics would adapt to maintain order, promising a "massive" security deployment to counter potential unrest.
