Finnish President Alexander Stubb has rejected German warnings that Russia could attack NATO by 2029, though he called for high defense readiness amid rising hybrid threats.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has dismissed warnings from Berlin suggesting Moscow could launch a conventional military attack on NATO territory by 2029. Speaking to the German newspaper Bild, Stubb stated he sees "neither evidence nor facts" to support forecasts of a direct assault on the alliance.

Despite rejecting predictions of a full-scale invasion, Stubb emphasized that member states must remain fully prepared to ensure effective deterrence. Meanwhile, European intelligence agencies and eastern flank nations report an escalation in Russian hybrid warfare, sabotage, and espionage. In response to these non-conventional security challenges, regional allies are expanding defense cooperation and elevating operational readiness.
