Finnish President Alexander Stubb dismissed warnings of a Russian attack on NATO by 2029, citing a lack of evidence while urging vigilance against hybrid threats.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has dismissed warnings from German intelligence suggesting Russia could be capable of attacking NATO territory by 2029. Speaking to German daily Bild, Stubb stated there are "neither evidence nor facts" to support forecasts of a conventional Russian strike against the alliance. He added that he could not imagine Moscow attempting to attack the world's strongest military coalition.

Despite his skepticism regarding a direct military assault, Stubb emphasized that NATO members must not lower their guard. He urged alliance partners to prepare for worst-case scenarios to maintain effective deterrence. Meanwhile, security officials across Poland, Northern Europe, and the Baltic states continue to report heightened Russian hybrid operations, sabotage, and espionage activities, prompting European defense leaders to strengthen regional cooperation and readiness.
