Finnish President Alexander Stubb dismissed German warnings of a potential Russian attack on NATO by 2029, calling for preparedness while seeing no evidence of an imminent conflict.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has rejected warnings from German officials suggesting Russia could attack NATO territory by 2029, stating there are "neither evidence nor facts" to support the scenario.

Speaking to German media, Stubb noted that he cannot imagine Moscow targeting the world's strongest military alliance. However, he stressed that member states should remain prepared for worst-case scenarios to maintain effective deterrence.

While Stubb expressed skepticism regarding a full-scale military offensive, European security services and intelligence heads continue to highlight growing Kremlin-backed activity across Northern and Eastern Europe. Frontline nations, including Poland, Finland, Sweden, and the Baltic states, are expanding joint defense cooperation to counter increasing hybrid threats, sabotage, and espionage.
