Finnish President Alexander Stubb rejected forecasts of a Russian attack on NATO by 2029, while urging members to maintain strong deterrence against hybrid threats.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has rejected German intelligence assessments suggesting Russia could attack NATO by 2029, stating there are "neither evidence nor facts" to support forecasts of a direct conventional assault against the alliance. Speaking to German newspaper Bild, Stubb added that he could not imagine Moscow attempting to strike the world's strongest military coalition.

Despite his skepticism regarding a full-scale confrontation, Stubb stressed that alliance members must maintain strong deterrence. He warned against complacency, noting that countries should remain prepared for worst-case scenarios to prevent potential aggression.

Concurrently, officials across Poland, the Baltic states, and Northern Europe report escalating Russian hybrid operations, espionage, and sabotage attempts. European intelligence agencies and defense leaders continue to evaluate Moscow's destabilization tactics, prompting increased regional military cooperation and enhanced security measures.
