Finnish President Alexander Stubb sees "neither evidence nor facts" supporting predictions of a Russian attack on NATO by 2029, though hybrid Baltic threats persist.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has questioned recent German security assessments predicting a potential Russian military attack on NATO territory by 2029. In an interview with German media, Stubb noted he sees "neither evidence nor facts" supporting such forecasts, doubting Moscow would directly challenge the alliance. Nevertheless, he urged NATO members to maintain high readiness to effectively deter potential aggression.

While top officials view a direct assault as unlikely, frontline Eastern Flank nations report escalating non-conventional threats. Military analyst Col. Maciej Korowaj warned that Russian forces are actively mapping NATO's defensive reactions in the Baltic Sea region, updating operational plans for expected autumn provocations. Poland, Finland, and Baltic states continue to heighten defenses against growing hybrid and sabotage activities.
