Finnish President Alexander Stubb dismissed German warnings of a Russian attack on NATO by 2029, though regional allies remain on high alert over Russian Baltic Sea hybrid activities.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has rejected warnings from German officials claiming Russia could attack NATO by 2029, asserting he sees "neither evidence nor facts" to support such predictions. Speaking to Germany's Bild, Stubb stated he doubts Moscow would risk targeting the world's strongest military alliance, while emphasizing that members must stay prepared for all scenarios.

Despite Stubb's skepticism regarding full-scale conventional warfare, regional allies report growing concerns over Russian hybrid threats and intelligence operations. Polish military analyst Col. Maciej Korowaj warned that Moscow is actively probing NATO security protocols across the Baltic Sea to update its operational plans, highlighting a heightened risk of provocations starting this autumn. To counter these activities, Poland, Finland, Sweden, and Baltic nations are expanding joint defense initiatives and intelligence sharing.
