European authorities track hybrid tactics and Chechen security networks

European law enforcement agencies are investigating suspected Russian hybrid operations against defense firms alongside Chechen security networks targeting exiled critics.
Lithuanian and Czech authorities are investigating recent intimidation tactics targeting defense companies, including the placement of mourning wreaths outside corporate premises. Lithuanian police have detained one suspect following the incident, which officials suspect is part of a broader Russian hybrid operation. Baltic security services had previously warned defense contractors about heightened risks of physical provocations and cyberattacks.
Concurrently, European law enforcement agencies continue monitoring Chechen security networks linked to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov. These structures, which originated as a personal security detail in 2000, have been implicated in targeted attacks and extrajudicial actions against exiled dissidents across Sweden, Austria, and Poland.
