Negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz continue between Iran and Oman, as Tehran demands US concessions while Washington suggests a resolution could arrive soon.

Negotiations between Iran and Oman over maritime transit through the Strait of Hormuz remain ongoing, with Tehran reiterating that reopening the waterway depends on United States concessions, including sanctions relief and compensation for damages.

United States President Donald Trump noted that an agreement could be reached in the coming days, while describing the diplomatic standoff as comparable to a chess match and pointing to Iran's severe domestic inflation and financial strain. Washington has observed progress in the talks mediated by Oman, though a final pact has not yet been formalized.

Concurrently, regional diplomacy continues in Europe as Lebanese and Israeli delegations engage in a seventh round of mediated talks in Rome, alongside the ongoing return of hundreds of thousands of displaced Lebanese citizens to their homes in the south.
