Azerbaijan is pushing to transform the Organization of Turkic States from a cultural forum into a broad economic, security, and energy bloc.
Azerbaijan is advancing plans to transform the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) from a cultural partnership into a broader geopolitical and economic alliance. According to priorities outlined by President Ilham Aliyev, Baku is seeking to align political, security, transport, and energy interests across member countries spanning Eurasia.
The strategy emphasizes expanding regional trade transit corridors and energy infrastructure to deepen economic integration among Turkic nations. Additionally, the initiative promotes closer security cooperation and the preservation of shared national values to enhance the bloc's global standing. By integrating these key sectors, Azerbaijan aims to position the OTS as a major framework for addressing regional economic and security challenges.
