Azerbaijan is pushing to expand the Organization of Turkic States into a strategic platform covering energy, security, and transport corridors.
Azerbaijan is pushing to transform the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) from a cultural partnership into a broader geopolitical alliance, according to recent statements by President Ilham Aliyev. Speaking on the strategic direction of the bloc, Aliyev emphasized aligning member states' political, economic, security, energy, and transport priorities across Eurasia.
Baku aims to leverage the OTS to synchronize vital regional energy corridors and transport networks while enhancing the collective international influence of Turkic nations. The initiative also focuses on joint security efforts and preserving shared values. As Azerbaijan hosts key regional forums, the government continues to frame the organization as an essential platform for addressing regional stability and integration.
