Azerbaijan is pushing to transform the Organization of Turkic States into a broader political, economic, and security platform across Eurasia.

Azerbaijan is advancing efforts to broaden the scope of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) beyond traditional cultural and humanitarian cooperation. Speaking on the strategic trajectory of the alliance, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev underscored the need to transform the bloc into a comprehensive platform addressing political, economic, transport, energy, and security priorities across Eurasia.

Under Baku’s proposed framework, member countries are seeking to align their national security interests while developing critical transit and energy corridors linking Europe and Asia. Azerbaijan has also utilized regional diplomatic summits and interfaith forums to elevate the international profile of the organization. The initiative aligns with Baku's broader objective to establish the OTS as a major geopolitical actor in regional affairs.
