Azerbaijan advances expanded strategy for Organization of Turkic States

Azerbaijan is driving efforts to broaden the Organization of Turkic States beyond cultural ties toward integrated security, energy, and transport cooperation across Eurasia.
Azerbaijan is pushing to transform the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) into a multifaceted platform covering political, economic, transport, and security cooperation. Speaking on the strategic direction of the bloc, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev emphasized that the group's scope must extend beyond traditional cultural and humanitarian links.
Under Baku's approach, member states are working to align their national security interests while establishing critical energy corridors and transit routes connecting Europe and Asia. Azerbaijan is also leveraging high-level diplomatic and interfaith gatherings to enhance the organization's international standing. The strategy reflects a broader push to solidify the OTS as a key geopolitical player across Eurasia.
