US charges five alleged Russian agents over Western murder plots
US prosecutors charged five alleged Russian agents over assassination plots in Europe and North America, as Denmark reported Russian sabotage against defense firms.
United States federal prosecutors in Manhattan have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives accused of organizing targeted assassinations and sabotage operations across Western nations. According to the Department of Justice, the network recruited individuals globally to surveil and target people aligned with Ukraine, including a June 2024 attack in Prague and planned killings in the United States. All five suspects remain at large.
Simultaneously, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service announced at a Copenhagen conference that Russian operatives executed targeted sabotage against Danish defense contractors supporting Ukraine's military. Authorities described the operations as an escalation in hybrid warfare against European security infrastructure. Russian officials have not publicly commented on the allegations.
