US indicts five alleged Russian agents over European and domestic murder plots
Federal prosecutors in the United States have unsealed charges against five individuals linked to Russian intelligence services over alleged murder and sabotage plots targeting allies of Ukraine.
American prosecutors unsealed federal charges against five individuals linked to Russian intelligence agencies over alleged plots to assassinate and sabotage defenders of Ukraine across Europe and the United States. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the suspects, who remain at large, paid global network operatives to surveil targets, carry out violent attacks, and fund terror operations. Court records detail a Kremlin-backed campaign targeting individuals and entities supporting Kyiv's defense efforts, including a physical attack in Prague.
In a related finding, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian-backed actors executed targeted physical sabotage against Danish defense manufacturers delivering military hardware to Ukraine. Danish authorities characterized these actions as a significant escalation of state-sponsored hybrid tactics designed to undermine Western military assistance.
