Heavy frontline engagements persist in eastern Ukraine as both sides report tactical movements
Fierce fighting continues in eastern Ukraine, with high engagement numbers across Pokrovsk, Lyman, and Kupyansk as both sides report tactical movements and conflicting frontline control claims.
Fierce fighting persists across eastern Ukraine, with the Ukrainian General Staff reporting over 220 daily combat engagements. Russian forces maintained heavy pressure on the Pokrovsk, Kostiantynivka, and Lyman sectors, attempting dozens of infantry assaults to penetrate defensive lines.
Concurrently, Ukrainian troops made tactical advances north of Kupyansk along the right bank of the Oskil River, following infantry clearing operations enabled by electronic warfare against Russian drones. Meanwhile, conflicting narratives over frontline control remain. Russia's Ministry of Defense claimed to have captured several settlements near Sumy, and Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov denied Ukrainian progress in Zaporizhzhia. Conversely, reports point to potential Ukrainian territorial gains near Lyman, where up to 200 square kilometers could be reclaimed. Strikes on ammunition depots were also reported in the Kyiv region.
