Israeli prime minister rejects US peace proposal for Gaza
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally rejected a US-backed 15-point peace plan for Gaza, insisting on the full disarmament of Hamas before any military withdrawal.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally dismissed a 15-point Gaza peace proposal backed by US President Donald Trump, declaring that Israeli forces will not pull back from the enclave without the complete disarmament of Hamas.
Speaking to his cabinet, Netanyahu stated that "Israel rejects the 15-point document" and reaffirmed that military operations would continue to address security risks. The rejection highlights growing tension between Washington and Tel Aviv, even as Israeli military strikes have recently quieted under American influence.
Netanyahu's decision comes ahead of Israel's national election on October 27, where he faces domestic pressure from right-wing coalition members alongside international demands. Concurrently, Yemen's Houthi rebels asserted responsibility for strikes targeting Saudi Aramco assets and the Yemeni port of Mokha.
