US delays Patriot co-production deal with Ukraine as drone strikes hit Russian warehouses
A US-Ukraine deal to co-produce Patriot missiles faces delays past the winter, while Ukrainian drone strikes hit logistics warehouses across Russian regions, killing five.
A bilateral agreement between the United States and Ukraine to jointly manufacture Patriot air defence missiles is unlikely to be concluded before the upcoming winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. Whitaker stated that while collaborative air defence initiatives with Ukraine and European allies are progressing, finalising a long-term production pact remains a complex process.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted commercial logistics infrastructure across several Russian regions. Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov confirmed that an overnight strike on a warehouse complex killed at least five people and injured ten others. Local officials also reported drone incidents at distribution facilities in the Saint Petersburg and Tver regions, while the Russian Defence Ministry stated that several aerial targets were intercepted overnight.
