Israel rejects ceasefire roadmap as Gaza strike and reconstruction plans unfold
Israel's cabinet has rejected a 15-point ceasefire roadmap as a drone strike in Gaza City killed six people and US-led reconstruction initiatives began.
Diplomatic and security efforts surrounding Gaza have hit significant obstacles following renewed hostilities and political disagreements. Local medical officials reported that an Israeli drone strike on a cafe in Gaza City killed six Palestinians, including a child, and wounded more than 14 others.
Simultaneously, Israel's Security Cabinet rejected a proposed 15-point ceasefire roadmap drafted alongside Egypt and Hamas, notifying United States officials that the terms are unacceptable. Despite the political friction, the US-led Peace Council announced the transition to the ceasefire's second stage. The council has also initiated its first construction tender, which aims to build a military facility intended to house roughly 150 Moroccan personnel to support local security.
