Israel rejects Gaza ceasefire plan amid deadly strike and base tenders
Israel's cabinet has rejected a 15-point Gaza ceasefire plan as a deadly strike hits Gaza City and the US-led Peace Council launches tenders for a military base.
Efforts to stabilize the Gaza Strip encountered severe diplomatic and security hurdles following fresh violence and political pushback. Local health authorities reported that an Israeli drone strike on a cafe in Gaza City killed six Palestinians, including a child, and injured over 14 others.
The attack occurred alongside diplomatic friction over a proposed 15-point ceasefire roadmap. Israel's Security Cabinet rejected the framework negotiated with Egypt and Hamas, informing United States officials that the terms remain unacceptable.
Meanwhile, the US-led Peace Council announced the transition to the ceasefire's second phase and initiated its first construction tender. The project reportedly aims to establish a military facility intended to accommodate approximately 150 Moroccan personnel tasked with security duties.
