US-Ukraine Patriot co-production deal delayed as drones strike Russian hubs
A US-Ukraine agreement to co-produce Patriot missiles will not conclude before winter, while Ukrainian drone strikes hit logistics sites across western Russia.
A bilateral agreement between Washington and Kyiv to co-produce Patriot air defense missiles is unlikely to be finalized ahead of winter, according to US Ambassador to NATO Matthew Whitaker. While Whitaker noted that interceptor production remains a long-term aspiration, joint manufacturing initiatives for other air defense systems involving European partners continue.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian drone strikes targeted logistics and commercial facilities across several Russian regions. Moscow Regional Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that a strike on a warehouse near the Russian capital killed five people and injured ten others. Regional authorities also indicated that facilities associated with the e-commerce platform Wildberries were targeted overnight in the Saint Petersburg and Tver regions.
