Netanyahu rejects US-backed Gaza peace plan, demanding full Hamas disarmament
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected a US-backed 15-point Gaza peace framework, stating Israeli troops will remain until Hamas disarms completely.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has formally dismissed a 15-point Gaza peace proposal backed by US President Donald Trump, asserting that Israeli forces will not withdraw until Hamas is completely disarmed.
Addressing his cabinet, Netanyahu stated that Israel "rejects the 15-point document" that had previously gained conditional acceptance from Hamas. He maintained that military operations would persist against perceived security risks, stressing that troops "will not carry out any withdrawal until Hamas is genuinely disarmed."
The public dismissal highlights increasing friction between Washington and the Israeli leadership. While the Israeli military has curtailed major offensive actions following diplomatic interventions from the White House, Netanyahu faces intense political balancing ahead of national elections on October 27, navigating pressure from right-wing coalition partners alongside demands from Washington.
