Ukraine reports drop in air defense supplies as EU provides €1.4 billion in aid
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported a drop in air defense missile deliveries while Kyiv secured €1.4 billion in EU aid and advanced its accession process.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that international deliveries of air defense interceptor missiles dropped to one-third of previous levels this year, compounding challenges as Russian drone and missile strikes intensify. In a meeting with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelensky discussed mechanisms to secure additional supplies, particularly Patriot interceptors capable of neutralizing ballistic threats.
Concurrently, European integration efforts advanced as Kyiv announced it fulfilled all prerequisites to open four additional negotiating clusters for European Union membership. The EU also disbursed a fifth financial tranche of €1.4 billion to Ukraine, derived from interest accrued on frozen Russian central bank assets. The funds will support military needs and economic stability.
