Iranian official details cancelled Ukraine strikes while envoy warns NATO of capability gap
Senior Iranian adviser reveals aborted strikes on Ukraine, as Kyiv's UK envoy warns NATO lags behind Russian drone warfare capabilities.
Tehran prepared to strike three targets in Ukraine following an incident involving an Iranian merchant ship in the Caspian Sea, according to Mohsen Rezaei, a senior adviser to Iran’s supreme leader. Rezaei stated the planned actions were called off after diplomatic communications occurred.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s ambassador to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, cautioned that NATO faces a significant lag behind Russia regarding modern drone warfare. Zaluzhnyi stated that current allied military doctrines remain outdated compared to battlefield realities evolved in Ukraine.
Additionally, defense analysts highlighted that expanding cooperation between Russia, China, Iran, and North Korea represents a growing strategic threat to Western security standards, urging faster allied adaptation.
