All 13 people aboard a charter flight died when a small plane carrying European tourists crashed during a tour of Peru's Nazca Lines.
All 13 people aboard a sightseeing flight died on Saturday during an aerial tour over Peru's Nazca Lines, according to local authorities and media reports. The victims include 11 European tourists—identified as Italian, German, and Spanish nationals—alongside two Peruvian crew members. The aircraft, a Cessna Caravan C-208 operated by charter company Aerodiana, went down approximately 400 kilometres south of Lima.
Media reports differed slightly on the flight's trajectory, with some outlets reporting that the aircraft crashed shortly after departing from Pisco airport, while others indicated the impact occurred near the airport in Nazca. Peruvian aviation authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the crash following reports that the aircraft lost control at high altitude.
