French police investigate discovery of five dead infants in Orange home
French authorities in Orange have launched an investigation after five dead infants were discovered in cardboard boxes inside a couple's home.
French authorities in Orange, Vaucluse, have opened an investigation following the discovery of five dead infants in a residential home. Forensic examiners confirmed that the remains comprise the skeletal remains of four infants alongside a fifth decomposing body, all stored inside cardboard boxes.
The discovery occurred after a 32-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy child at home and was subsequently hospitalized. Her partner searched the property after reportedly uncovering her concealed pregnancy, discovered the remains, and notified hospital staff. Deputy prosecutor Sophie Demangeot confirmed that authorities have ordered autopsies to determine the timing, circumstances, and exact causes of death.
