Ukraine strikes Russian oil and export sites deep behind front line
Ukrainian forces conducted long-range strikes on Russian energy targets as Russian bombardments continued across Ukrainian regions.
Ukrainian forces executed long-range drone strikes targeting Russian energy and export facilities hundreds of kilometers from the front line, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced. The attacks hit an export terminal in western Rostov Oblast—approximately 250 kilometers from active combat zones—alongside oil infrastructure in the Yaroslavl and Udmurtia regions.
The strikes follow reported Ukrainian drone operations over Moscow, which caused temporary flight suspensions at local airports. Concurrently, Russian forces maintained heavy bombardment across Ukraine. More than 50 drone and artillery strikes hit Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, leaving three people dead and six injured in Nikopol and surrounding areas. Drone attacks were also reported in Zaporizhzhia, wounding four people, including two children.
At the UN Security Council, official Kayoko Gotoh raised concerns over a sharp rise in Ukrainian civilian casualties during July, citing extensive damage to public and commercial infrastructure.
