Zelensky warns airlines over Russian airspace risks as drone strikes intensify

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has alerted global airlines and insurance firms that Russian airspace is no longer safe as long-range drone attacks escalate. While clarifying that civilian airliners will not be targeted, Zelensky cautioned that flying through major Russian transportation hubs poses growing hazards during the ongoing war.

Meanwhile, ground fighting remains intense along the front lines. Ukrainian forces continue efforts to stem Russian military advances while attempting to minimize troop casualties amid persistent personnel shortages. Both sides are increasingly relying on uncrewed aerial vehicles and cruise missiles for long-range bombardments. However, Ukrainian defense operations remain heavily constrained by shortages of air defense interceptors needed to counter Russian missile strikes.
