President Zelenskyy warned airlines about risks in Russian airspace as drone strikes expand, while Ukrainian forces manage frontline pressure and shortages.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a warning to global airlines and insurance companies regarding operations within Russian airspace. He stated that the sky above Russia is becoming increasingly unsafe as Kyiv expands its long-range drone capabilities. While clarifying that Ukrainian military forces will not target commercial passenger flights, Zelenskyy stressed that operating near major Russian aviation hubs carries growing operational risks.

Meanwhile, military assessments indicate Ukrainian troops face continuous pressure along the eastern frontline. Commanders are prioritizing soldier preservation to manage persistent manpower shortages, which could worsen if Moscow initiates further mobilization efforts. Both belligerents are increasingly relying on long-range kamikaze drones and cruise missiles. However, Ukraine remains especially susceptible to Russian aerial bombardment because of ongoing shortages of air defense interceptor missiles.
