Zelensky dismisses US ambassador as Ukrainian drone strike hits Russian resort
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Kyiv's ambassador to the United States, while a Ukrainian drone strike killed seven people in a Russian resort town.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed the country's ambassador to the United States, following a broader government reshuffle launched in July. The diplomatic change comes at a critical juncture, as Kyiv urgently seeks additional Patriot air defense systems from Washington to counter ongoing Russian airstrikes.
In a separate development, a Ukrainian drone strike targeted the Russian Black Sea resort town of Arkhipo-Osipovka. The attack killed seven people, including three children, and injured 40 others, with 21 individuals requiring hospitalization. Tourists at the site reported that no warning sirens were activated prior to the strike hitting the popular destination.
