Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant reconnected as diplomatic talks loom

Ukraine's Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant has reconnected to the power grid as diplomatic meetings are planned and France raises questions over funding.
The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine has been reconnected to the external power grid following safety restorations reported by the International Atomic Energy Agency. The restoration coincides with renewed diplomatic activity surrounding the conflict. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that representatives from Ukraine, the United States, and European partners are scheduling a meeting in the near future. Concurrently, Kremlin officials signaled a willingness to resume peace talks under specific parameters.
Despite these diplomatic developments, questions remain over the long-term financial commitments required for Ukraine's defense and reconstruction. French officials highlighted growing fiscal concerns regarding who will cover the substantial costs, casting uncertainty on sustained Western financial aid.
