US strikes Iranian coastal positions as tensions rise

US forces strike Iranian positions near Bandar Abbas as President Trump warns of further action and Iranian President Pezeshkian vows a decisive response.
Tensions between Washington and Tehran escalated sharply following the first direct military exchange between the two nations in a month. American forces bombarded strategic Iranian targets near Bandar Abbas and Sirik, prompting US President Donald Trump to warn of additional strikes should Iran retaliate. Trump also claimed Iranian leadership is eager to negotiate a deal with Washington.
In response, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian asserted that Tehran does not seek war, while warning that his nation will "respond decisively to aggressors." Meanwhile, Iranian naval officials maintained that their forces remain fully operational despite the strikes, dismissing reports of severe structural damage along crucial international trade routes.
